Thiago Bernardes was born in Rio de Janeiro in 1974 into a family of architects. His grandfather, Sergio Bernardes, one of the masters of Brazilian Modern Architecture, made history in the 1950s and 1960s. His father, Claudio Bernardes, is the creator of an original and unmistakable residential style, where primitive elements of Brazilian culture are incorporated to create a contemporary context.

With over twenty years of experience, Thiago has spent these years creating his own identity without abandoning the influence left on him by his father and grandfather. With offices in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, and Lisbon, his firm develops projects that span various programs and scales.
