Estúdio Tarimba was founded in 2011 by Alexandre Salles, an architect with a master's degree in Urban Semiotics from FAU-USP. Today, in addition to heading the firm, he coordinates undergraduate and graduate courses in Interior Design and Furniture Design at the European Institute of Design (IED) in São Paulo.

With extensive experience in large architecture firms, Alexandre also participates in academic panels at Brazilian universities and focuses on ancestral architecture.
