ABCERAM promotes the 65th- 66th Brazilian Ceramics Congress in June

The event aims to promote the interaction of the various segments involved in the ceramic industry, contributing to the development and strengthening of the sector
Considered the most important event of the sector in the country and one of the largest on an international level, the 65th - 66th Brazilian Ceramics Congress will take place from June 6th to 9th of this year, at the Majestic Hotel, in Águas de Lindóia, São Paulo. Promoted by the Brazilian Ceramic Association (ABCERAM), the congress aims to promote the interaction of the various segments involved in the ceramic industry, contributing to the further development and strengthening of Brazilian ceramics.
"It is the only event in the sector where professionals from educational and research institutions, ceramic industries from various segments and suppliers of raw materials, equipment and inputs come together in the same environment," says Ulisses Prado, President of ABCERAM, pointing out that the ceramic universe is broad, consisting of various segments, despite the peculiarities of each, they have many points in common such as raw materials, processes, human resources and others, and complement each other in various applications.
During the four days of the congress, there will be exhibitions of technical-scientific works, in oral and poster form, lectures by renowned national and international specialists and panel presentations, opportunities for debate on topics of interest to the ceramic industry.
Among the topics that will be presented by the speakers are:
"Application of the Impulse Excitation Technique in the non-destructive determination of the modulus of elasticity and damping of ceramic and refractory materials as a function of temperature", by Henrique Alves, PhD in Materials Science and Engineering and Bachelor in Physics from UFSCar, and director of ATCP Engenharia Física.
"Technosols as a transition strategy for the Circular Economy", by Jairo José Zocche, Permanent Professor of the Post-Graduate Programme in Environmental Sciences - PPGCA of the University of Extremo Sul Catarinense (UNESC).
"Biofabrication Studies of Vascularised Tissues", by Juliana Kelmy Macário Barboza Daguano, Associate Professor of the undergraduate course and supervisor of the Postgraduate Programme in Biomedical Engineering at the Federal University of ABC (UFABC) and General Coordinator of Projects and Services at the Renato Archer Information Technology Centre in Campinas.
"Geopolymeric materials and sustainability", by Lisandro Simão, PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (PGMAT/UFSC), working at the University of Extremo Sul Catarinense (UNESC).
"Development of new lithium-based bioactive materials", by Sabrina Arcaro, with a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from the Federal University of Santa Catarina and working at the University of the Extreme South of Santa Catarina (UNESC).
The following plenaries will also be held:
"A comprehensive perspective of policies and solutions for waste management in cities at the global level", by Aguinaldo dos Santos, Professor at the Design Department of the Federal University of Paraná, currently Head of the Design & Sustainability Research Center - UFPR.
"Welcome to the Age of Glass", by Edgar Dutra Zanotto, from the Federal University of São Carlos, UFSCar, and the Center for Research, Technology and Education in Vitreous Materials (CeRTEV).
Finally, the president of ABCERAM highlights that "the event is important for the scientific and technological scenario of the country, providing participants with the opportunity to broaden their knowledge and discuss various issues that will certainly bring benefits for professional qualification and for the companies and institutions to which they belong and, consequently, for the entire ceramic sector".
In parallel to the 65th-66th Brazilian Ceramic Congress a fair will be held, where companies can exhibit their products and services.
