Exhibitions explore Japanese design through jewellery and regional graphics
The cultural richness of Japan is expressed in the country's authorial design vehemently in all segments that the sector contemplates. Proof of this are the exhibitions that Japan House São Paulo is currently presenting, focusing on two distinct aspects of Japanese design: jewellery and graphics. A selection of pieces of these specialties can be checked in the shows "[ím]pares" and "WAVE", which are on show until June 12th and May 1st, respectively.
"[ím]pares" highlights the Japanese aesthetic sense through the work of five jewellery designers, who blend traditional and contemporary elements, presenting unique and rarely designed pieces.
WAVE" aims to present a panorama of contemporary Japanese graphic arts and illustrations, bringing together works by pioneering artists and young people who are prominent on the current scene.
With free admission, the Japan House São Paulo (Av. Paulista, 52) opens from Tuesday to Friday (10am to 6pm), Saturdays (9am to 7pm) and Sundays (9am to 6pm). There is the option to book in advance on the website: https://agendamento.japanhousesp.com.br/
