Innovation and sustainability at Expo Revestir 2023
August 16th 2023
During the 17th edition of Expo Revestir, the "Anfacer + Sustentável" (Anfacer + Sustainable) program was officially launched. The initiative aimed at guiding and bring the issue to the table of ceramics segment. Therefore, at Expo Revestir 2023, some exhibitors stood out for embracing this cause.
The Portobello booth stood out as the most sustainable in the history of Expo Revestir. With 1000 m², the stand had a 95% reuse rate. According to architect Giovani Bonetti, responsible for the design of Portobello booth, temporary architecture needs to be thought of from three points of view: reuse (of the exhibition and the structure), accessibility and working conditions for the workforce. With organized and well-planned management, they were able to generate a positive impact on the environment and society.
At the Docol booth, the connection between the forest and water was the starting point for the project, seeking an approach in line with respect for nature. Glued laminated timber (MLC) pillars shaped this entire structure, and the choice of this material reflected the exhibitor's concern for sustainability. "MLC is a material that rationally uses wood from forests planted for this purpose and thus ensures the sustainability of its supply and the preservation of native forests," explains architect Daniel Mangabeira, a partner at Bloco Arquitetos office. In addition, its manufacturing process consumes less energy than other construction systems.
Berneck also brought this representation to its booth. The metal scaffolding structures and modular products that can be reused in other projects were designed to strengthen this concept for the public, as well as minimizing waste and garbage.
With these initiatives, we hope to inspire many other segments to adopt this commitment to sustainability and the environment, seeking more and more solutions that have a positive impact.
