The flagship event, the Salone del Mobile, takes place from 7 to 12 June
One of the most important events in the world, Milan Design Week 2022 takes place from 7-12 June, with the Salone del Mobile furniture fair as its flagship event. In parallel to the Salone, dozens of events focusing on authorial design take place in Milan and its neighbouring cities.
In its eagerly awaited resumption, the Salone del Mobile Milano 2022, in its 60th edition, boasts grandiose figures: there will be almost 200,000 m² of exhibition space, with around 2,100 exhibitors, including 600 designers from the Salone Satellite. In total, 25% of the participating companies will be foreign.
According to information from the Salone's press office, this year's edition will reflect the current ecological transition in the world of design, with a mission to "demonstrate that it is possible and crucial to start incorporating sustainability and environmental awareness into furniture production".
Described as a showcase for quality, innovation and creativity in the furniture sector, the Salone brings together seven exhibitions that will be presented simultaneously, in addition to the Salone Satellite, at the Fiera Milano Fairgrounds in Rho. The event will be open to professionals on all days, from 9.30am to 6.30pm, and will be open to the general public at the weekend.
The Salone Internazionale del Mobile, the International Furniture Accessories Exhibition and Workplace3.0 - divided into the Classic, Design and xLux style categories - will make up the event, as will EuroCucina and its FTK (Technology For theKitchen) event and the International Bathroom Exhibition.
S.Project will also be back, with a space dedicated to design products and decorative solutions and interior design techniques. The Salone Satellite with young designers up to 35 years old will also make up the event's grid.
