Berneck launches Horizons Collection at Expo Revestir 2024

There are nine new patterns, as well as a new texture for the Brazilian market.

A new collection of BP melamine panels for furniture and interior design will be presented by Berneck at Expo Revestir 2024. The largest coatings and finishes fair in Latin America takes place from March 19 to 22 in São Paulo and presents the main trends and novelties in the segment.

A benchmark in the production of MDP, MDF and HDF panels, as well as Pinus and Teak lumber, in Brazil and around the world, Berneck chose the event to launch the Horizons Collection, at a stand that invites contemplation.

The new collection brings to the market nine patterns and an unprecedented texture in the Brazilian BP melamine panel market: the ALUMI texture, with a metallic look and distinctive feel,

"It's an excellent opportunity to show these surprising launches first-hand to the specialized public, since Expo Revestir is a major event for architecture and interior design professionals and specialized retailers," says Berneck Marketing Manager Renata Kompatscher Malucelli.

She reveals that the new collection invites you to explore, create, design and surprise through the creative expression of architecture and design. "The shades and textures in the Horizons Collection are here to give projects even more identity, regardless of style. They are easy to compose and can be used both as protagonists and as complements," he adds.

The Parquet, Veneer, Tabasco, Tangará and Falésia patterns and the Plomo Dust and Gold patterns, with the new Alumi texture, will be exhibited at the Berneck stand in installations that allow visitors to imagine and create their most diverse applications. The 200 m2 space was designed by Bloco Arquitetos, an architectural firm from Brasilia, together with the Berneck team.

Berneck exhibition: widen your gaze

To create the space, BLOCO Arquitetos was inspired by art installations, where the viewer has the chance to "enter" the work and interact with it. Architect Matheus Seco, a partner at BLOCO, explains that Berneck's projeto follows the firm's understanding of the universe of trade fairs, where there is the possibility of offering a unique experience to visitors. "We think of the stand as a space to pause, a respite from the excess of visual information that we normally see at similar fairs. In this sense, we try to direct the visitor's gaze to the product itself, without 'distractions'. That's why, instead of designing a space where the brand's products would be displayed, we transformed the Berneck products into the exhibition space itself."

"In construction terms, this meant building the entire stand basically out of Berneck MDF boards. We thought of the visitor's experience as a real immersion in a large "showcase" in three dimensions. That's why we initially drew inspiration from the "immersion" of viewers in installations by pioneering artist Helio Oiticica. Subsequently, we arrived at the work of artists such as Lygia Clark and Donald Judd, whose expression focuses on very simple geometric shapes. The patterns in the Horizons Collection, for example, will be shown in a series of totems that resemble sculptures. These are 2.30 m high installations completely covered in patterns from Berneck's new collection. The stand's ceiling is made up of MDF boards that seem to "float" over the space."

"In this edition, we want to prioritize personal attention for each visitor. We're going to lead people into the space, showing them our collection, just like in an art gallery," explains Berneck's product development coordinator Andrea Colin Correa.

She points out that, as well as worrying about the aesthetics and beauty of the stand at the fair, it was also necessary to think about functionality in order to show all the details of the new collection.

"We've brought the macro concept to reality with the difference that we're not applying the products to any piece of furniture. We didn't want to take it literally," he says, adding that this way, visitors will be able to come up with their own application ideas, broadening their horizons and their creativity.

The stand also has an area dedicated to the SMART Line, a range of four unicolor patterns recently launched by Berneck. The functional space can also be used as a rest area for visitors to the fair.
