Casa Lepri, the essence of sustainable natural coverings

Published in
23.1.2025

With a projeto signed by architect Alê Salles, creative director of Estúdio Tarimba, the company presents launches in an immersive proposal, with a revival of ancestry, and in the versatility of its portfolio through new colors and formats.

Welcome, our home is yours!

"The place where I like to be is the one where I connect with my ancestry, where I can walk barefoot, ground myself and free myself, awakening my senses." Based on this premise and the need to provide an immersive and sensory experience, architect Ale Salles created Casa Lepri for Expo Revestir, 2025. His relationship with the company goes back a long way and took on a new dimension when he collaborated on his projeto for Casa Cor São Paulo2024. "I have extreme affection and respect for Lepri, which goes beyond my admiration for natural coverings and includes recognizing the values and needs of our clients!" says Ale.

Casa Lepri will have different areas where visitors will be able to check out the brand's launches and also celebrate its 100-year history. "We're going to highlight not only the beauty of natural coverings but also this rich and strong family history, full of values and passion for everything they create," explains the architect.

The heart of the house is the space dedicated to celebrating the centenary. The kitchen becomes a laboratory and brings us experimentation, the mixing of components (and waste) that give life to the various collections and shades of natural coatings created at LepriLab. The living spaces are responsible for welcoming guests/visitors, where they can experiment, learn and check out the different application possibilities. "Everything comes together and contributes to experiencing/experimenting/getting to know the trajectory and paths that guide Lepri's future," he concludes.

Lepri 's centenary also celebrates the values of artisanal production rich in textures, emotional memories and sustainability. "Concern for people, the way Brazilians live, their roots and their need to be welcomed are at the heart of our history," says Ludmila Lepri, marketing director. According to José Lepri, CEO, living and breathing the essence of an industry that transforms clay into charming tiles and pieces is truly a privilege and a great joy. " Lepri tiles have always been my passion, not only because of their beauty and unique texture, but also because they allow us to contribute to a more sustainable environment, providing well-being," says José Lepri.

Trends 2025, according to WGSN, the global authority on consumer and design trends

Today, 79% of global consumers believe that the role of brands has changed in the last five years, and 40% see this role as making the world a better place. Thus, the importance of creating authentic narratives and real connections will be indispensable in the coming years. Since 2005, Lepri has been dedicated to launching sustainable natural coverings, using clean energy and reducing its carbon footprint over the years. Attitudes like this are part of the company's essence, which is at the heart of its actions in its centenary year. "The essence remains, as do our roots, the focus on craftsmanship, sustainability, the sensory, the relationship between people. Each product has its own unique coloring and texture, like a work of art that cannot be reproduced in series and that makes each projeto unique," explains Ludmila Lepri.

On the other side of the excess of screens is the increasingly inevitable demand for connection in the real world, mental relaxation without digital stimuli and for experiences that mark time - and not just fill it. It is in this context that brands need to be fluent in different formats, celebrate milestones beyond life's phases, seek an aesthetic that represents one group without excluding others and allow themselves to be surprised by where their products can go. With natural coverings, Lepri proposes reconnecting with the earth, with ancestry and valuing craftsmanship. "As long as there is a Lepri , the flame (passion for coverings) will not go out," says José Lepri, the company's president.

"... 47% of Generation Z expect brands to support sustainability. "Because it's no longer about the world we will leave to the next generations. It's about the world we live in - and sell in, and consume in, and live with, and help each other in - today. This is the essence of Lepri, supported by sustainable practices, products with recyclable components and a natural (clay) and sensory base.

Launches:

. Bio Colore Collection: available in three shades (cremma, pistacchio and cielo), this natural tile is produced with a special and exclusive glaze created by LepriLab from wood-fired oven ashes. The technique used harks back to the masters of China who, millennia ago, created an alchemy with ashes heated in a fire until they became glazed and shiny. It is also related to the term slow ceramic (with the same meaning as slow food, where the food should be enjoyed slowly), which values pieces produced in limited editions by hand (in batches). According to Ruth Fingerhut, a trend consultant and designer specializing in the ceramic tile segment, the techniques applied allow for the production of exclusive shades, which can even be combined. They are very soft and provide environments with elegance, tranquillity, delicacy and a lot of well-being. "The home becomes an even more special refuge, a place to recharge," adds Ruth.

- Pieces in the formats 7 x 7 cm, 11 x 11 cm and in the Nobu collection (4.5 x 46 cm). For indoor and outdoor floors and walls.

. Aquarelle Collection: the main highlight of this tile is the tone of the tile , stoned, like a watercolor painting that creates the illusion of movement.

Available in the colors Ochre, Ruby and Azure. Pieces in 11 x 11 cm format. For indoor and outdoor floors and walls.

. The Olaria collection is getting new shades: pieces in 5x10 cm and 7x7 cm formats further expand the range of options for architects and interior designers. "Among the new shades are those that are on the rise in the world of architecture and decoration, such as terracotta, beige and off-whites. These are colors that embrace the home and are perennial," says Ruth.

The Olaria Collection has an aged finish, which gives a pleasant sensation to the touch and underfoot due to its texture, awakening the senses and providing well-being. It is ideal for indoor and outdoor areas, floors and walls, for both small and large spaces. It is modern and versatile. It has tones that match and combine in various design styles.

. Nobu, oriental inspiration: in Japanese, it means to extend or stretch and conveys the idea of perseverance. The name also conveys the collection of natural ceramic tiles in a long, 4.5x46 cm format. It can be applied to floors, walls and façades, both indoors and outdoors. It adapts perfectly to organic formats, providing flexibility and personalization to projects, as it allows for the creation of different types of layout. It is available in several color options: Lotus, Bianco Polare, Pepe, Concrete, Verona, Champagne, Terracotta, Rosso, Hazelnut, Paglia, Cioccolato and Tobacco (= Moka Mousse, Pantone's color of the year); and textures: torrone, contemporary and traditional.

. Natural coverings for wet areas: these are excellent options for projects such as swimming pools and water mirrors. They are available in various colors: Chamonix (offwhite), Crema (beige), Cioccolato (brown), Brera (gray), Concrete (dark gray), Nero (graphite), Black (stonewashed gray) and Avelã (mocha mousse) and shades of neutral tones (each piece has its own unique shade), in 7x7, 5x10, 11x11, 7x23, 23x23 and 11x23 formats, which offer an extraordinary aesthetic result for exterior projects.

. Cogobó Two Lips: a piece inspired by the Tulip, a flower that alludes to true, eternal love, connoting elements such as tranquillity, peace and luxury. Marked by the delicacy and simplicity of its features, in Terracotta color, 22 cm wide. It is assembled with stylized hearts that also allude to the flower that symbolizes Holland. Thanks to this design and its handmade production, it can also be used to divide rooms, as it allows natural light to enter, creating a beautiful graphic.

As well as being widely used outdoors, including in gardens as part of landscaping, cobogós are also widely used with the concept of screens partially separating integrated spaces, making projects very charming.

. Natura Cappuccino Collection: sustainable, sensorial and Brazilian, this natural ceramic tile is made from Mariana mud. By combining raw materials, technology and design, Lepri brings solutions for the environment, values Brazilianness, craftsmanship, design and well-being. Pieces in 5x10 cm, 7x7 cm, 7x26 cm and 9x36 cm formats provide personalization to projects.

. Olaria Indigo Collection: the darling of fashionistas, denim, makes up this tile in 5x10 cm and 7x7 cm formats with a unique surface texture. Sustainable, it is made by recycling the fiber of the world's most democratic and beloved fabric, jeans. It brings a fashionable attitude into the home with an unusual and innovative design. It goes beyond aesthetics, as it contributes to minimizing the environmental impact of the textile industry, transforming waste into design. It was developed in collaboration with a jeans manufacturer. It is modern, timeless and offers a smooth movement with a pleasant touch. Thanks to the small format of the pieces, it offers total flexibility to projects.

. Brick Invencchiatto Nero: this was the first tile produced by Lepri, launched in a projeto by architect Sig Bergamin in a context of luxury and daring. By relaunching this line in brick format, Lepri is bringing its essence to the fore, in a way that is current (which remains), however innovative it may be. The Nero shade has different nuances between each piece, which are the result of the ancient technique used in its production: raku (Japanese) combined with an extruded production technology devised by Lepri (exclusive), which provides high resistance and beauty to the pieces.
