The program was implemented and developed throughout 2023 and is the first of its kind in the country. Developed in partnership with Rafa Resolve, the program carried out 158 waste collections at 18 construction sites.
The initiative was initially joined by construction company Trisul and has already attracted two new companies in the area: Plano&Plano and BM Engenharia. "The reverse logistics program confirms our DNA for innovation since our company began operations 35 years ago," says Marcelo Velletri, director of Construction at Promaflex.
In the first year of the projeto pilot project, 158 collections of waste (floor and worktop protection) were carried out at 18 construction sites in Greater São Paulo. Over 90% of the waste was recycled. "The first results were above expectations. As well as being highly sustainable projeto , it is an economically viable solution, as it gives value to post-consumer raw materials, transforming what was previously synonymous with expenses into revenue. For construction companies, there is a big reduction in the cost of waste management, which is traditionally the responsibility of the generator itself," says Velletri.
Rafa Resolve has a network of trucks equipped with GPS. When one of these units identifies that a point is full, the nearest vehicle is sent to the location to collect the material. Subsequently, the waste is sent for recycling, undergoing fine separation for conversion into polyethylene pellets, ensuring correct disposal and transformation.
"The system provides full traceability of everything collected in this process. There's a big reduction in environmental liabilities for construction companies. projeto in partnership with Promaflex represents a major step forward for the sector in Brazil," says Rafa Resolve director Rafael Teixeira. According to the executive, the second phase of projeto will study products made from recycled waste.
projeto Velletri believes that Promaflex 's reverse logistics business should continue to expand. "The company is a market leader with a strong presence in the construction industry in various parts of the country. The program is attracting the attention of many partners in the sector," he concludes.
Expo Revestir
Andrea Velletri, Marketing Manager at Promaflex, says that the company will have interactive totems on its stand at Expo Revestir to show the innovative reverse logistics process. Visitors will also be able to see other innovations developed by the company, such as the recently launched FHT line, which uses a new technology to manufacture films that are more resistant to high temperatures, less permeable to water and steam and use up to 50% less material in final production.
The Expo Revestir public will also be presented with the brand's items for floor protection: Promapiso, Promaleve, Obralimpa and Promármore; Promalaje and Protelhado thermoacoustic insulation blankets; and Probancada, Procaixilho and Providro protection films.
