The armchair "May", developed by designer Jader Almeida, received the Product Design award, from Red Dot Product 2022. The product had already been highlighted recently in the Infinity Skin exhibition, at the jaderalmeida LAB shop.

With the purpose of demonstrating the preciousness and synergy of the creative processes, "May" consisted in an investigation projeto of form and abstraction from a product that converges values and the language of Jader Almeida.

The edition marks the 80th recognition of Jader's career. In 2021, the artist achieved recognition with his products in five other competitions, such as the IF Design Award and Good Design, as well as the Museu da Casa Brasileira Award.

Every year, the Red Dot Award: Product Design is given to the best products of the year, whether they are aesthetically appealing, functional, smart or innovative. This year's award ceremony will take place on 20 June.

About Jader Almeida - Jader Almeida was born in 1981 in the state of Santa Catarina, south of Brazil. At the age of 16 had the first contact with the furniture industry, starting his involvement in the entire production process. He worked for the company LinBrasil, publisher of furniture collections signed by renowned architects and designers, experience that gave him a great understanding of the drawings and production techniques. Since 2004, develops exclusive products for industries, having as main partner the brand SOLLOS of Santa Catarina. In 2013, he joins the team of designers of the German brand ClassiCon. Trained in architecture, with award-winning pieces in major national and international design competitions, Jader Almeida gains increasing prominence and continues to improve his work with participation in fairs, exhibitions, technical visits and courses in several countries. He also works in architectural projects, developed in his office in Florianópolis, Santa Catarina. "I seek rationality, simple geometry, in pure forms with timeless aesthetics. I seek to create products with lasting values. Address the heritage of the masters, but looking forward, thinking that the choices of today will be the reflex of tomorrow.
